Knowing Jim

I did not have the opportunity to know Jim for long. I am new to the Securitas family so my contact with Jim was limited. I was impressed by his manner and style as a supervisor. When I was asked to cover for a employee who could not be at work for some reason Jim ALWAYS took the time to come find me and thank me. Wow! How special that he cared enough to let me know I was appreciated. As I talk with the people who knew Jim much longer I relize even more what a special person he was. I know we will all miss him. I will miss getting to know him better for I know knowing him would have made me better as an employee and as a person. Loss of someone so special is so very difficult for those of us who cared or loved them. It leaves a hole in our heart that sometimes seem impossible to fill. I lost a son in 1995 and I still have my days when the grief seems very fresh. As we remember Jim instead of grief we should celebrate the gift of knowing him and having him touch our lives. Losing him is hard but knowing him was great and that is his gift to us. Old Proverb Yesterday is history! Tomorrow is a mystery! Today is a gift! That's why it is called "The Present" Carroll Hooser
